Hafiz’s strong interest in mental health was shaped by the global pandemic, a time where he observed many of those around him, particularly among his friends, experiencing emotional difficulties navigating through uncertainty, stress, and isolation. Witnessing this sparked a growing interest in wanting to learn more about mental health and a desire to support others in a meaningful way. As a trainee clinical psychologist, Hafiz believes in creating a safe space where clients are free to share their experiences, and that therapeutic progress is built through small but meaningful steps. He views therapy as a collaborative process that empowers individuals to better understand themselves to navigate through their challenges.

Following his internal practicum, Hafiz has gained experience in working with young adults who presented with concerns, such as stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related difficulties. He also had the privilege to work with neurodivergent children, which has broadened his understanding of diverse developmental and psychological needs. Hafiz uses evidence-based approaches in his practices that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), while remaining flexible to tailor his approach to suit each client’s unique experiences.

As a trainee clinical psychologist, Hafiz is eager to continue to develop his clinical skills and is open to gain new experiences in working with a wider range of individuals and mental health concerns. He hopes to work collaboratively with each client, taking the time to truly understand their unique experiences and challenges, and supporting them in overcoming their difficulties in a way that is meaningful to them.
